July 15, 2024Recent flash floods in the northern provinces of Afghanistan caused significant human casualties and extensive financial losses. One of the most severely affected areas was Baghlan, where an estimated 12,000 homes were damaged or destroyed and hundreds of lives were lost.
Be Team’s Cure Hospital was able to send two teams – a medical team and a food donation team – to Baghlan province to address the emergency medical and food insecurity needs. The terrain was rugged, and the teams encountered roads that were impassable. To reach victims in the remote areas of Baghlan, the team traveled by foot.
The Cure Hospital teams were met with an array of challenges, including finding a safe place to spend the night. They persevered, and over five days, they were able to visit five districts that were severely affected by the storm to provide free medical services to over 2,000 individuals. The food distribution team delivered food packages of flour, oil and kidney beans to 200 families.
Whether in Kabul or in the remote villages of Afghanistan, Be Team’s dedicated Cure Hospital staff is committed to improving healthcare for all Afghans.
