Taking care to the provinces
November 17, 2023Bringing Sustainable Power to Cure Hospital: A Solar Panel Initiative
April 4, 2024Anisa, a 34-year-old woman from the Kapisa province of Afghanistan, suffered severe complications following an injury to her bowel during a cesarian section at a public hospital. After two more operations and seeing Anisa’s condition continuing to deteriorate, her doctors referred her to Cure Hospital.
When she arrived at Cure Hospital, she appeared malnourished, anemic, hopeless, and depressed. Our fistula and general surgery team evaluated Anisa’s condition and planned a fourth operation, during which they repaired the bowel, performed an ileostomy, and closed her fistula. Following the fourth surgery, Anisa’s condition improved daily. Anisa will be evaluated in the future to determine if her ileostomy can be reversed.
For now, with the pain and suffering behind her, Anisa was relieved to be able to return home to her family and new baby. She and her family are thankful that a committed and professionally talented team of doctors at Cure Hospital doctors was able to give Anisa her life back. Their healing hands and caring hearts renewed a young, suffering woman’s life and gave Anisa the promise of hope and recovery.
