Advisor | Be Team International

Dr. John Heusinkveld is pleased to serve as an Advisor for Be Team International. He has also traveled to Afghanistan on five occasions, where he helped to rebuild women’s healthcare in the post-Taliban era by training Afghan physicians in modern gynecologic surgery at the Cure Hospital. John has been recognized with the ‘Outstanding Service Medal’ award by the US Public Health Service for his extensive work with underserved Native American populations. He has been a University faculty member since 2011, and his professional memberships include the American Urogynecologic Society and the AAGL.

He is an assistant professor and a Board-Certified specialist in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery with Banner – University Medical Center Tucson’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has over 13 years of experience in surgical and nonsurgical treatment of pelvic floor disorders such as pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. He also practices general gynecology. John is a graduate of the Vanderbilt University Medical School and completed his residency training at the University of Arizona Hospital.

John and his wife Dominika reside in Tucson, Arizona.
