Visit with Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1st District)

Be Team Board of Directors Chair, Caren Schumacher, was attending a fundraiser in her community of Williamsburg, VA, and had the opportunity to chat with her Congressman, Rob Wittman. In their conversation, Schumacher learned that the Congressman had an interest in the people of Afghanistan, and had, in fact been part of a delegation that visited the country and its people a few months earlier. With great enthusiasm, Schumacher shared information about Be Team, which resulted in the Congressman requesting a meeting with both she and Dr. Manning. On October 17th, Schumacher and Manning met with Congressman Wittman in his Capital Hill office. The informative and successful meeting garnered the Congressman's support for the work of Be Team, and put a visit to the Cure Hospital on his itinerary for a future trip to Afghanistan.
